Kalka-Shimla Railway

The Kalka–Shimla railway in Northern India runs from Kalka to Shimla on the narrow-mile (762 mm) 2 ft 6 line. The hills and the neighbouring villages are famous for their spectacular vistas. The train was built between 1898 and 190. Shimla, the summer capital of India, was connected to the rest of the Indian railway between 1898 and 1903 under the leadership of Herbert Septimus Harington.

The toy train, which operates on a narrow-gauge track and is famed for its stunning vistas of the hills and neighbouring villages, is the finest way to get from Kalka to Shimla. The ancient Kalka Shimla Toy train, on the UNESCO World Heritage List, takes visitors on a trip across huge green hills and deodar and pine woods.

The trip was carved through the wealth of nature in Himachal Pradesh under British control. Thus the Kalka Shimla Toy train is bound to transport you to a whole other era in history and via one of India’s most picturesque railway rides.

The yellow structure and silhouette can be seen from miles away in Shimla, and it is constantly crowded with architecture enthusiasts and admirers. Shimla Christ Church is built in the neo-gothic style and features a front porch, church bells, and five stained glass windows depicting different Christian virtues. This is presently the only site of worship for Christians, and it is open every day.
